  • Step 1. Lift the drum up and prop it up.
  • Step 2. Remove both FRONT SHIELDS and the OUT CHUTE.
  • Step 3. Remove only the top two bolts of the IN CHUTE and let it down.
  • Step 4. Loosen the bottom bolts and drop the front frame down.
  • Step 5. Remove all the J-BOLTS and take the old seal off.
  • Step 6. Start installing the new seal by putting J-BOLTS in two holes next to each other in the seal and inserting them into the top two holes on the mixer, with the nuts on the outside so they are easily accessible if they need to be adjusted.
  • Step 7. Place the seal ring clamp on the top two J-BOLTS and turn the bolts up to hold the clamp in place. Tighten slightly.
  • Step 8. Push the seal under the clamp all the way around and put J-BOLTS at the 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 positions on the clamp.
  • Step 9. Put the rest of the J-BOLTS on and tighten all of them on the mixer.
  • Step 10. Put the front frame on and bolt it to the bottom of the mixer. Then start at the bottom of the seal and push it in all the way around so that it is tight.
  • Step 11. Adjust the gap between the front plate and the drum. Should be ¼” gap all the way around so that the seal is tight and it’s not rubbing on the drum.
  • Step 12. Put the bearing back on and run it a little to make sure there is no rubbing against the drum. If there is, adjust the bolts accordingly.
